Mindfulness in Nature: Geese
A family of geese gliding across the still waters invokes the naturalistic connection always available for us. When in everyday life we get caught up in our thoughts, we forget the underlying sea of consciousness which unites us. Connects us with ourselves, the world. Often doing so in a way that dissolves illusions of separateness. We see in the geese a natural and innate ease. Their formation is aligned without having to arrange an order that is not already there. Their movements reflect a passage through space that is graceful. For the young, a trust in their mother’s guidance and father’s backing supports their confidence to move. What takes us out of the natural order? What interferes with your graceful movement across space and time? Geese remind us that beneath the level of concepts is a relationality that connects us with each other and life.
