You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.

I do not. Private pay offers freedom to participate in therapy without a mental health diagnosis getting attached to your medical record or insurance companies combing through your notes; your treatment information stays between you and me, that’s it. Private pay does not require one to pathologize troubles in personal growth. Private pay also provides more flexibility for timely care and the ability to be seen as often as need be without long breaks between sessions. Furthermore, I’ve found when people buy in, literally, to therapy they do better because they are more invested. Private pay also allows more time for me, your therapist, to focus on you and your needs and less time bogged down with insurance paperwork.

This is a brief phone call to chat and figure out if your concerns and goals for therapy are something I can help you with.
I will ask questions about:
-What brings you to therapy
-What you hope to be different as a result of working in therapy
-Previous experience with therapy
It’s a get to know each other conversation that will help us determine if working together will be a good fit. You are welcome to ask me any questions you might have as well.

I currently only offer virtual visits but plan to have in person offerings as well in the near future

While stress, anxiety, and depression are my specialities, I also help people struggling with trauma and life-transitions. People often are interested in EMDR for distressing memories which is something I offer as well.
